Ketamine-Assisted Therapy

A low dose of ketamine is integrated with psychotherapy, offering a unique way to disrupt negative thought patterns and facilitate new insights. Ketamine treatment can create rapid, noticeable shifts in mood and perception.

What is it?

Originally developed as an anesthetic, ketamine at controlled, low doses assists in the treatment of mood disorders such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, and more.

We guide you through a series of therapeutic sessions where ketamine’s effects create a window of opportunity to address deep-rooted emotional concerns.

This process enhances receptivity to positive change and forming healthier thought patterns.

How it works?

Ketamine works by targeting the brain’s glutamate system, which is involved in learning, memory, and emotion regulation.

By temporarily altering activity in these pathways, ketamine can help interrupt cycles of negative thinking and stimulate new perspectives.

During the therapy session, you may experience an expanded state of awareness that helps explore personal challenges from a fresh viewpoint.

The Process

01

Medical Session

Initial Assessment

Initial evaluation with a prescriber from our KAP-trained medical team, where they will go over the patient’s medical and psychiatric history and determine eligibility for KAP.

02

Psychotherapy

Prep Session

The patient and psychotherapist align on the process and set intentions for their KAP work together. Preparation sessions are scheduled prior to the KAP dosing session.

03

Psychotherapy

Dose Session

A typical dosing session occurs in-person or remotely via telehealth. Patients self-administer their ketamine lozenge. The KAP dosing session is largely an internal experience and the therapist is present the entire time to hold space and provide support as needed.

04

Psychotherapy

Integration Session

After every KAP dosing session, the patient and therapist meet for multiple integration therapy sessions to review the memories, thoughts & insights that arose during the dosing session, and to prepare for the next dosing session.

05

Ongoing Outcome

Monitor Overall Outcomes

Regular follow ups to monitor outcomes. The frequency of follow ups depends on the patient’s customized treatment plan, at a minimum of once per quarter.
